Meta Reveals Next-Gen “Wearable Technology” with EssilorLuxottica

Meta has introduced its latest AI-powered smart glasses, the Meta Glasses, in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The new wearable technology comes in three frame styles, including a limited-edition version designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner.

The Meta Glasses feature a 12MP camera, similar to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Users can capture videos in up to 3K resolution at 30fps and take high-quality photos with a resolution of 3,024 x 4,032 pixels.

Designed for comfort, the AI glasses include adjustable three-way nose pads, customizable temple tips, and overextension hinges for a secure fit. A dedicated action button provides quick access to Meta AI, powered by the company’s latest Muse Spark AI model.

For audio and communication, the glasses are equipped with an open-ear speaker system and multiple microphones. Users can make calls, listen to music and podcasts, and use voice commands hands-free. Noise reduction technology helps improve sound clarity during conversations and media playback.

According to Meta, the smart glasses offer up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. The included charging case extends total battery life to up to 40 hours. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). The glasses also support Meta’s Neural Band accessory.

The Meta Glasses are available in Adventurer, Fury, and Meta Glasses by Kylie styles, with more than 26 frame and lens combinations to choose from. Customers can also order prescription lenses through Meta’s Rx Lens Swap program.

Meta has confirmed that additional features, including Dynamic Photo and pedestrian navigation, will be released later this month through software updates.

Pricing for the Meta Glasses starts at $299. The AI smart glasses are available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Australia.

Customers can purchase the Meta Glasses through Meta.com, Amazon, LensCrafters, Best Buy, and Sunglass Hut.
